After all the rumors and guesses, name of the upcoming iPhones are confirmed which is going to be sensation on September 12.
Steven Troughton-Smith the famed developer found them being mentioned after searching inside Apple’s leaked iOS 11 GM firmware logs. Here, we can see that the string from the firmware log specifically mention iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
Citing a reliable carrier source, that the new OLED iPhone would get called iPhone X, with the iterative updates to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models respectively named iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. It is also likely that the OLED iPhone could be branded as “iPhone Edition” according to the source.
We have seen that the Apple releases its iPhone every year and every year they give the name of the iPhone following the previous series. According to the rumors it was likely that Apple is going to release its iPhone 8 along with the series of iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. But this might not be the case now. They might not want to use the same way further. Apple’s 10th anniversary can be the major time to get rid of the S series of iPhone.
From the point of marketing, it makes a sense to advertise iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus as iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus to suggest they’re not iterative at all.
The biggest question to ask is whether Apple is retiring S-branding for good or will next year’s iPhones be named “iPhone 9”, “iPhone 9 Plus” and “iPhone XI”?
Just a few days for Apple to announce the introduction of iPhone 8 which is 4.7 inch, iPhone 8 Plus of 5.5 inch and OLED iPhone X or iPhone Edition of 5.5 inch. Its just matter of 2 days and we don’t expect more rumors in that time. The leak of iOS 11 GM is likely to continue to give us more details into Company’s plan, but here is no arguments on this now.
